Pinkish Red Mahenge Garnet Oval 1.79 Carat Eye Clean With Color Shift MAH00063

Not your typical red Almandine garnet, this Mahenge garnet is a pinkish-red color in most light, which reminds us of the color of some Pinot Noir wine. It also displays a color shift to red in old-fashioned incandescent lighting. This color shift is typical for Mahenge garnets. We were lucky enough to obtain a parcel of Mahenge garnets soon after they were first discovered in Tanzania in 2015. We finally had the parcel faceted by our cutting shop and the results have been incredible. As you can see in the video, this particular garnet is eye clean and bright, with good scintillation. Perfect for either a ring or pendant.
