Most Oregon sunstones are a straw yellow in color. This particular stone is a copper-pink, displaying moderate schiller. The schiller in this stone is caused by tiny copper inclusions. These copper inclusions in this stone form a snowflake pattern. The schiller does make this stone appear a bit sleepy, but this schiller effect is unique to sunstones, and is best in sunstones from Oregon. Due to sunstone’s hardness (approx. 6.5), we recommend setting this stone in a pendant or brooch.
