A product of heat treatment, the yellow dot, when oriented properly by the faceter, can cause the gemstone to radiate a shade of yellow throughout the entire stone. Although this sapphire does not display a color change, the amount of yellow does depend on the light source. Overall it is very light yellow with a more intense yellow dot, but in some lights it is a medium-light yellow throughout the stone, with no yellow dot visible, while in other light it is almost colorless with the exception of the yellow culet.
