We never guessed that this sapphire would display a color shift. In most lighting it is a deep night blue in color, and this deep shade of blue is very unusual for a Montana sapphire. We decided to check it under traditional 40w incandescent light bulbs, and the color shifted to a light violet (see pictures). It does have a few tiny inclusions that are difficult to see even under magnification. This is for someone looking for a dark blue Montana sapphire. Perfect for either a ring or pendant, and would look terrific in a halo setting.
