UNUSUAL ORANGE GARNET OVAL 1.44 CARAT OGN00050

At first glance, we thought this is a spessartine garnet, but upon further consideration, it could be spessartine, hessonite, or even Mali garnet. We acquired this stone as part of a parcel of unusually colored garnets. It is a bright gemstone, with just a hint of a color change from reddish-orange to yellowish-orange, depending on the color source. Overall the gemstone is clean, with a couple tiny tubes visible under magnification. This garnet can be set in either a ring or pendant, but would look best in a custom ring.
