Most Oregon sunstones are a straw yellow in color. This particular stone is a very light pink, with some color zoning and light schiller. This schiller appears as parallel stripes and is visible on the video. The schiller in this stone is caused by tiny copper inclusions. These copper inclusions in this stone form a snowflake pattern. The scintillation and schiller varies in this particular stone depending on the orientation. Due to sunstone’s hardness (approx. 6.5), we recommend setting this stone in a pendant or brooch.
