The princess cut is one of our favorites, but not many gemstones are cut as princess due to the substantial loss of material. Our faceter decided to cut this particular stone as a princess to take advantage of zircon’s high refractive index, which compliments this stone’s rich shade of blue. Many people believe that zircon is manmade, mistaking it for cubic zirconia, but zircon is a natural gemstone which is sometimes used as a diamond substitute due to its high refractive index. Blue zircon has become a very popular gemstone. This stone can be set in either a ring or pendant.
