Diacalymene was a genus of trilobites living during the Orovician age, over 430 million years ago. These fossils are found in nodules which are cracked open to reveal the fossil inside. Many fossils are chipped or cracked during this process, requiring repair. The tail (pygidium) on this particular trilobite is slightly elevated, making this an unusual fossil. This fossil shows signs of light repair.
