This is a gorgeous gemstone, and the color is reminiscent of the finest blue sapphires from Southeast Asia. We are not sure of this stone’s origin, but we suspect it came from the Tunduru river gravels in Tanzania. Very brilliant for its size. We strongly recommend mounting this spinel in a white gold setting to maximize the stone’s great color.
